Foodstuffs North Island Limited has announced plans for a replacement New World in Feilding, on the corner of Aorangi Street and Gladstone Street.
“We are really excited to be investing in the Feilding community by building a replacement New World supermarket,” says Angela Bull, Foodstuffs North Island Limited General Manager Property Development. “We had originally proposed developing the site with the PAK’nSAVE brand in mind. But, after taking the opportunity to take a closer look at the needs of the community and taking into account the detail of the site we believe that a new, modern New World is the right long-term offer for our customers.”
“The New World will have plenty of natural light, wider aisles and a great fresh food offer – aspects which have all become synonymous with the New World brand. In addition the new store will be a much more spacious retail environment, which when combined with ample car parking promises to deliver a great supermarket shopping experience to our customers,” continues Bull.
Development plans for the replacement New World on this site are being prepared, with a resource consent application expected to be lodged in early 2016. It is anticipated that the replacement New World will open in October 2017 and the current New World will then close, as it has a lease expiry in November 2017.
Todd and Nicola Carter, the owner operators of New World Feilding, are thrilled about the new store. “The new store is an exciting new opportunity for us and a great investment for the community. We are really looking forward to having a new store for our customers, with all the great fresh food and grocery offer they expect from New World,” say the Carters.
