Pete Findlay has formally taken over as CEO of Bega Group with immediate effect, succeeding Paul van Heerwaarden.
Van Heerwarden announced in October last year that he would be stepping down after working for the company for 13 years, and as CEO for the past six.
During his time at Bega, van Heerwaarden was involved in many highlights including the key role he played in the acquisition of the Mondelēz Grocery Business in Australia, as well as the acquisitions of Koroit and Lion Dairy and Drinks.
Van Heerwaarden was also instrumental in the re-shaping of Bega’s ingredient and nutritionals business through the execution of the various Reckitt’s transactions.
Barry Irvin, Executive Chairman of Bega, said van Heerwaarden has been a wonderful CEO for the Bega Group substantially contributing to the transformation of the company and that they wish him well with his future endeavours.
Findlay joined the business in 2019 as CFO and was named COO in June 2022, where he has been in charge of the branded business division. He has more than 25 years of experience working in senior operational, financial, and professional roles for privately and publicly traded companies.
Findlay has held a number of top CFO positions in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, retail, information technology, and distribution.
