Edesia Market was recently opened by New Zealander Craig Hopkins. Hopkins was based in the Mediterranean as a Super Yacht Captain for 20 years, working alongside top chefs provisioning boats for some of the world’s most wealthy and discerning clients.
After his return to New Zealand, Hopkins wanted to use his broad range of skills in a new business with a focus on artisan NZ food. He researched the specialty food store and Farmers market concepts in depth and noticed there was an opportunity to create the first Auckland based online Farmers Market & Specialty food store.
Edesia Market offers what specialty food stores and farmers markets do best, without the very high cost structures of large stores and numerous staff. This means shopping on-line at a time to suit, eliminating driving costs and parking hassles, but most importantly enjoying the best of artisan NZ food at noticeably lower prices. Shoppers can currently choose from a growing selection of organic meats, organic fruit and vegetables, artisan par-baked breads, extensive pantry shelves, sweets, cakes and nibbles, gifts and what’s on-sale tab.
Delivery is free in the greater Auckland area for orders over 75 dollars, with delivery between 6pm to 9pm; within Auckland. The shopping arrives in a box, chilled items are in bio-degradable chill bags, including frozen gel packs. For the rest of NZ (non-chilled food only) it is day time delivery within one to three days, depending on regional location.
All food suppliers to Edesia Market are the very best in their category; new suppliers are thoroughly evaluated by a buying team and exceptional new foods are being added weekly. Delivery over summer to Omaha Beach and the Coromandel is under evaluation.
Edesia Market also has a personal and corporate Christmas Gift range, or alternatively shoppers can make-up their own hamper from the product range on-line.
Edesia Market & Specialty Food Store is the start of a revolution in NZ food shopping, a new way to shop for premium NZ food. For more information, terms & conditions please visit edesiamarket.co.nz
