The Nelson Tasman company behind popular Kiwi brand Juicies has scored an international award, taking out the New Zealand-Taiwan Business Excellence Award in Taipei this month.
Tasman Bay Food Group Managing Director Marina Hirst Tristram says: “We’re really delighted. It’s not only great recognition for our team here in New Zealand, but also for our partners and suppliers in international markets who are doing a great job at helping us take Juicies to the world.”
“This award recognises our continued focus on business excellence and deepens and strengthens the relationship between Taiwan and New Zealand,” she says.
Juicies have been sold in Taiwan since 2014 and sales have grown to almost a million Juicies a year.
Made from freshly-pressed Nelson apples blended with fruits, berries and very little else, Juicies contain no added sugar and are 100% natural. Sold in New Zealand school canteens since 1990, Juicies are now available in easy to open pop-up tubes and exported to nine different countries.
It’s not the first time Tasman Bay Food Group has won awards. Last year, the business was named as a finalist in the Excellence in Operations and Supply Chain category at the New Zealand International Business Awards 2016 and in 2015, the company won both the Rabobank Business Innovation Award, and the NZTE Export Innovation Award at the New Zealand Food Awards.
