After a busy eight days of refreshing the space, the new owner-operators of FreshChoice Ōtaki, Brad and Rochelle Meikle, were excited to welcome the local community into their new supermarket this week.
FreshChoice Ōtaki has been designed with a focus on value and fresh, quality products. The range in store is carefully curated so customers can access what they need and want – whether it’s ingredients for dinner, breakfast or something in between.
The opening ceremony included a performance by a local Kapa Haka group, as well as a ribbon-cutting, cake and sausage sizzle. Locals noticed familiar faces filling the shelves and serving them in-store, with most of the team from Woolworths transferring over to FreshChoice.
“We’re really pleased to have brought over so many of the fantastic team members that were previously working at Woolworths. Now, we’re looking forward to meeting more of the community over the coming weeks and showing them what we’re all about at FreshChoice,” say Brad and Rochelle Meikle.
Brad and Rochelle have moved to Ōtaki to take up this opportunity, and have a wealth of experience in owning and managing supermarkets- they previously owned SuperValue Bell Block and FreshChoice Featherston.
Brad’s journey with FreshChoice began over 20 years ago as the Butchery Manager at FreshChoice Richmond. As a former butcher and avid fisherman, he’s passionate about providing customers with the freshest produce and meat. Combined with Rochelle’s commitment to excellent customer service, they couldn’t be more excited to serve the Ōtaki community.
FreshChoice Executive General Manager, Tim Cartwright says the opening of FreshChoice Ōtaki represents the supermarket’s commitment to bringing quality, fresh, and locally sourced products to Kiwi communities.
