Cookie Time Limited has again been named New Zealand’s number one FMCG distributor, in the 2024 Coalface Consulting ALL Channel Supplier Satisfaction ranking.
Cookie Time beat out industry giants Coca Cola and Tip Top Ice Cream to take the top spot for the fourth year running, drawing on the strength of its franchised distribution network to deliver outstanding supplier and service levels. Cookie Time was also earlier this year named New Zealand’s most trusted cookies brand for the fourth year, in the Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Brands Awards.
Sam Pollock, Cookie Time National Sales Manager, says the number one rankings are a testament to the dedication of franchisees, the passion of the Cookie Time team, and the strength of an iconic brand.
“Our Cookie Time franchisees are tasked with being trusted advisors to the trade, keeping these much loved cookies beautifully stocked on shelf and always going the extra mile to help their customers, deliver value and provide innovative solutions,” she says.
“They’re a dedicated group who are serious about service and ensuring the best product is delivered on time and in full whenever it is needed – acting as rep, delivery person and merchandiser all in one.”
“We’re also grateful to the stores who have supported our franchisees, brands and business for more than four decades, helping Cookie Time become such a real Kiwi success story.”
And behind every great franchisee is a tight team that enables the family owned business to punch above its weight.
“It takes so many small actions to get stock on shelves, from creating recipes to designing packaging, baking the cookies, packing and distributing them to franchisees. Every team member has a part to play – and we’re so proud to secure this double whammy number one result,” Pollock says.
The Coalface survey is the benchmark for industry performance, with annual surveys measuring the service level performance of more than 60 suppliers across the FMCG industry. Nearly 1300 individual stores across multiple FMCG channels were surveyed, including all Grocery retailers, all Oils, and Organised Convenience/Route outlets. The results have Cookie Time as number one once again by overall satisfaction rating across all stores for the combined channel rating.
Cookie Time runs a franchised distribution model, comprising 58 franchise business owners running territories from the top of the North Island to the bottom of the South Island. They represent, distribute and merchandise Cookie Time’s iconic brands including Cookie Time, OSM, Bumper and Em’s Power Cookies.
Geoff Smith, Coalface Partner and Director, says Cookie Time’s number one ranking in the Coalface All Channel annual report is a huge achievement, stamping their name on trophy four years in a row.
“This award is for overall excellence at store level, achieved by consistently delivering excellence at every opportunity in a highly competitive setting against the industry’s best suppliers.
“This is an extremely hard fought category. Four years in a row is testament to impressive dedication at all levels of the Cookie Time organisation,” Smith says.
