The Food Show is set to return to Auckland on July 26-29 at ASB Showgrounds, and as the biggest Food Show to ever grace the country, there’s going to be a considerable number of stands to work your way through – more than 300!
While getting lost among the aisles of food (glorious food) is exciting, if you’d rather tackle the show head on with a bit of a strategy, why not make a beeline for some of these interesting exhibitors?
Luxe Brew
The Espresso Martini has hit fever pitch in terms of its popularity, but when a signature drink or dish hits the peak, there is one place that it can go, and that’s into the land of convenience! Luxe Brewing has created its very own pre-mix Espresso Martini. Developed by Coffee Expert and World Barista Judge™, Justin Metcalf, The Espresso Martini pre-mix is a perfect blend of vodka and coffee liqueur with a base of cold brew coffee – just chill, shake well and pour.
Green Time
This fully vegan restaurant is based on Auckland’s Fort Street. While they serve up delicious sounding food – think BBQ ‘pork’ sliders, Nachos and Black Forest Cake – the restaurant also aims for zero food waste, everything is plant based and they only use compostable packaging!
Good Boost Co
The good people at Good Boost Co have done it; they’ve reinvented the yoghurt wheel with the first Almond Yoghurt in NZ. Delicious Greek-style yoghurt made with vegan probiotic cultures and freshly made almond milk.
Avocado NZ
How fitting that The Food Show Auckland will have a dedicated avocado stand! Lambasted for being the reason Millennials can’t buy a house, but hey, if you can’t beat ‘em – join ‘em! Avocado NZ will have all of your avocado needs sorted!
Good From Scratch
Michael Van De Elzen will be at The Food Show Auckland showcasing a range of deliciousness under his Good From Scratch philosophy. Go have a chat with him and see what he’s up to with Green Meadows Beef, Grove Avocado Oil and The Good Taste Company.
Kaitahi
Kaitahi is created by a passionate group of indigenous Māori based in South Taranaki. They believe that food is more than just combining ingredients, it is about feeding the force of life. Everything they create ultimately enhances wellbeing. Kaitahi™ Frozen Superfood Smoothy Drops is the company’s first range of easy to use, nutritious and delicious superfood products. The drops include traditional Māori ingredients such as kūmara, pūhā and kawakawa, made by Ringawera (cooks). Simply add the frozen drops to water and mix for a superfood smoothy that provides all of the good stuff for your body!
Cut food waste
The Odd Bunch is an initiative designed to help cut food waste, selling funny looking fruit and veges for a whole lot less! Check them out at the Countdown Fresh Market at the show.
Alchemy Beverage Co
It’s all about the honey at The Alchemy Beverages Co as they bring the world’s first Night Honey Wine and Night Ambrosia Honey Liqueur to The Food Show Auckland. Manuka Honey is fermented into the wine using modern winemaking techniques and the Ambrosia, or as they like to call it ‘nectar of the gods’, is a blend of East Coast Manuka Honey, French brandy and 23 carat gold flake!
It seems like a lot, but that’s just the start!
