The days are getting longer and warmer – time to find out what’s trending in summer skincare and sunscreens.
“It is important to take good care of our skin during summer, both for hydration and sun protection, particularly given the intensity of the sun in New Zealand,” says Kate Feek Senior Brand Manager at BDM Grange.
She adds: “Surf Life Saving New Zealand Sunscreen offers SPF50 Protection in a Dry Touch formulation, which means it dries completely to ensure an even better user experience. With a matte finish, this fast absorbing, fragrance free formula will leave skin feeling clean and fresh whilst continuing to offer the moisturising properties of Aloe Vera and Vitamin E. The Dry Touch formula is the perfect option whilst playing sports as well as being durable for the workplace.”
She explains: “In addition, not only will the sunscreen help to protect the skin from the harmful effects of the sun, each unit sold will also generate a royalty payment to this amazing group of volunteers that help to keep us safe between the flags on the beach throughout the summer. To become a surf life saver requires quite a lot of training, so donations are essential to keep this charity working tirelessly on our behalf.”
Feek says: “It is also essential to take good care of our skin to help prevent excess moisture loss. The outermost layer of the skin is an oily layer and its purpose is to retain moisture in the skin, keeping it healthy and radiant. However, there are many factors, particularly in summer, that can contribute to stripping away this oily layer such as bathing, swimming and air conditioning. Lipidol is an everyday range of skincare products that are oil based and will help supplement that natural oily layer and retain moisture. The Cleansing Body Oil is perfect for gently cleansing the skin without stripping these natural oils away, particularly when we are prone to showering more often in the summer, and the two After Shower Oils, one of which offers SPF20 protection, will ensure the skin is moisturised without feeling greasy. Lipidol was recently repackaged into cartons to help give greater presence on shelf, and will be supported by a new print campaign later in the year.”
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water in Oil
The all-in-one Micellar solution removes even the most stubborn, long-wear and waterproof make-up. An exciting new addition to the Micellar range is Garnier’s first bi-phase Micellar solution infused with cleansing oils (RRP $13.99).
Garnier has made a technological breakthrough in combining the power of cleansing oils with the efficiency of micellar. When the bottle is shaken the two components combine, allowing even the most stubborn make-up to be gently removed without leaving a greasy film.
Argan oil, for extra skincare is rich in essential fatty acids and Vitamin E, soothes, hydrates and softens the skin. It prevents drying and brings a ‘skincare’ touch to make-up removal.
Why are cleansing oils so effective at removing waterproof make-up?
Oil dilutes components in long-lasting and waterproof make-up that are resistant to water. This allows make-up to be removed more easily by helping it slide off the skin and eyelashes.
This new product is also available as a wipe (RRP $8.99), made from embossed fabric specially designed to capture all traces of make-up. The wipes remove water-proof, long-lasting make-up and impurities quickly and gently. Oil-based make-up removal is so easy! Ultra-fast and with no greasy residue.
Both products are available in September 2016.
